FIH Hockey Fives rules were applied at the Championship. Hockey Fives is a fast-paced, more skillful, short format of hockey which can be played on multiple surfaces, environments and space. This game is played between two teams with 4 field players and a goalkeeper. Hockey fives incorporates all the skills and game principles of hockey. Hockey fives was introduced because of its adaptability for grassroots development. Keeping the principle of grassroots development in mind and to encourage more teams to participate, this championship was held in the Hockey Fives format and not the traditional 11 a-side Field Hockey.
