Chief Justice of India, Dr.Justice D.Y. Chandrachud inaugurated the new District and Session Court complex, North Goa, and Civil & Criminal Court at Merces, in the presence of Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant, on Saturday.
Judge, Supreme Court of India, Justice Abhay S Oka, Justice Rajesh Bindal, Justice Prasanna B. Varale, Justice N Kotiswar Singh, Chief Justice of High Court of Bombay, Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Law and Judiciary Minister, Aleixo Sequeira, Advocate General, Adv Devidas Pangam, Dy. Solicitor General of India for the State of Goa, Pravin Faldessai; St Cruz MLA, Rudolf Fernandes; Chief Secretary, Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, also graced the occasion.
“The creation of this new complex is a testament to our commitment to ensuring that the judiciary has the infrastructure it needs to function effectively. With the inauguration of this complex, I am confident that it will contribute to greater efficiency in our courts and bolster the faith of the people in our legal system,” stated Dr Sawant in a post on social media.
