Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant and Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Govind Gaude conducted a thorough review of overall preparedness and plan of action at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (SPM) Indoor Stadium ahead of the 37th National Games Goa.
Dr. Sawant and Gaude inspected every facet of the stadium. The SPM stadium is slated to host three high-profile events during the 37th National Games Goa -Badminton from 20th October till 24th October; Fencing from 26th October till 30th October; and Volleyball from 1st November till 5th November. The complex’s cutting-edge infrastructure and facilities stand as a testament to the government’s commitment to promoting sports and athletic talent within the region.
“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every person for their relentless efforts in ensuring the readiness of the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium. It is well-positioned to play a significant role in ensuring the resounding success of the 37th National Games Goa 2023,” stated the Chief Minister.
Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, Secretary (Sports) & CEO, National Games Organising Committee (NGOC), Swetika Sachan, DGP Jaspal Singh, Dr. Geeta S Nagvenkar, Jt. CEO, NGOC and Executive Director, Sports Authority of Goa; Amitabh Sharma, the Chairman of National Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC) and Executive Member of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), senior officers from the Government of Goa were also present to take the stock of the situation.
