The spate of high-profile inspections continue as Goa builds for 37th National Games 2023. Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant along with Sports Minister Govind Gaude, visited and inspected Peddem Sports Complex, Mapusa today.
Fisheries Minister Nilkant Halarnkar and Aldona MLA, Adv. Carlos Alvares Ferreira were also present along with other officials. Spanning an impressive 3,200 square metres, the Peddem Sports Complex will host Hockey from 30th
October to 8th November, Boxing from 1st to 8th November, Gymnastics from 23rd to 28th October
and Billiards & Snooker from 27th to 28th October.
Meanwhile, the torch relay is in progress to raise the awareness about the prestigious National Games. Goa is set to host the biggest edition in the history of the Games with a total of 43 disciplines and over 10 thousand participants.
Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai flagged off the 37th National Games Torch rally from the vibrant town of Sanguem.
PWD Minister, Nilesh Cabral graced the Flag-Off in Curchorem at Ravindra Bhavan in the presence of CCMC Chairperson, Pradip Khushali Naik, CCMC Chief Officer, Manohar Karekar, Councillor, Prassanna Bhende, Sanvordem Panch, Sanjay Naik, Former National Football Player, Alvito D’Cunha and other dignitaries along with School students.
