A webinar was organised under the Swayampurna Goa programme on Saturday. The webinar focussed on the Gramin Mitra scheme of Department of Information Technology. IT Minister Rohan Khaunte, IT Director, VP members, Councillors, Corporators, CSC General Manager, Swayampurna Goa team from Directorate of Planning, Grameen Mitras, CMO team participated in the interaction.
Khaunte revealed that 40 more services have been added to the original 179 to take the total government services to 219. In all, 27 Departments will cater to the requirements of the people through the energetic network of Gramin Mitras spread from Pernem to Canacona for seven days a week, operating via the Helpline No. 14471.
“Along with men, women are also on a strong footing under this initiative; with the digital divide being bridged between the urban and rural areas in the citizen-centric governance,” emphasised Khaunte.
The IT Minister also advised the people to check the identity card of the Garmin Mitra before dealing with the person although the appointed service-provider will be from the same region.
