The government decided to give job offer letters to the children of the Freedom Fighters, who contributed to liberate Goa; under the scheme Freedom Fighters category that had 5 percent job reservation. The letters were handed over to 42 children on Wednesday while the remainder from the total of around 132, will be given the letters by 19th December, stated Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant. The posts are from the ‘C’ Category in the government sector.
While congratulating the beneficiaries, the CM also hailed the sacrifices made by their Freedom Fighter parents, because of which the children were getting the government jobs now. “Such jobs are not given to others without answering a competitive exam. However, you are getting the job because of your parents. You must always remember this,” he said.
“Just like your parents contributed in the fight for Goa’s liberation, similarly you must work to provide service to Goan people as you go on to become a government servant,” asserted Dr Sawant.
Meanwhile, son of Freedom Fighter Gajanan Raikar and businessman Parag Raikar gave up his job offer under this scheme as he runs a successful enterprise of his own. The CM hailed the gesture of Parag, who wishes that this job opportunity will be beneficial for someone else.
