Pune Gas Projects Pvt. Ltd., a renowned leader in providing gas solutions to Indian industries, has achieved yet another milestone in its three-decade journey by completing two significant projects in North Goa. These projects, undertaken for Nestle, Bicholim Plant, and MRF Tyres, Ponda Plant 1 & 2, involved the conversion of traditional Furnace oil-fired boilers to more eco-friendly and efficient Natural Gas, states a press release.
Jesal Sampat, the Executive Director of Pune Gas Projects Pvt. Ltd., expressed their satisfaction with these successful conversions, saying, “We are proud to have partnered with Nestle and MRF Tyres in their commitment to environmental responsibility. These projects not only demonstrate the feasibility of cleaner energy solutions but also set an example for other industries to follow.”
The Nestle, Bicholim Plant project encompassed the complete transformation of their heating system, switching from Furnace Oil to Natural Gas. This transition not only enhances the operational efficiency of their facility but also significantly contributes to reducing air pollution in the region. At Nestle India, Natural Gas is now used extensively for the manufacturing of their popular products, including Maggi noodles, Maggi ketchup, sauces, and other packaged foods. This transition ensures the production of these household favourites in a more sustainable and environmentally-responsible manner.
Similarly, the team at Pune Gas Projects Pvt. Ltd. worked closely with MRF Tyres, Ponda Plant 1 & 2, to convert four steam boilers from Furnace Oil to Natural Gas. This conversion not only optimises their energy consumption but also aligns with environmental sustainability goals. MRF Tyres relies on Natural Gas for the crucial vulcanisation process in manufacturing vehicle tyres. Vulcanisation is a key step in tyre production, and the switch to Natural Gas ensures a cleaner and more efficient production process for these essential automotive components.
One of the key highlights of these projects is the use of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supplied by Goa Natural Gas Pvt. Ltd. (GNGPL) for industrial applications in North Goa. The availability of PNG for industries in the region signifies a major step towards cleaner and greener energy sources. By replacing polluting liquid fuels with Natural Gas, these projects contribute significantly to the reduction of air pollution in the picturesque state of Goa.
Mohd. Zafar Khan, Managing Director of Goa Natural Gas Pvt. Ltd., the authorised gas supplier for Natural Gas in North Goa, also shared his insights, stating, “We are delighted to see industries in North Goa taking the initiative to switch to cleaner energy sources. Natural Gas is not only environmentally-friendly but also cost-effective. This collaborative effort aligns with our vision of a sustainable and cleaner future for Goa.”
The adoption of Natural Gas as an alternative to polluting fuels is in line with global environmental trends, and Pune Gas Projects Pvt. Ltd. is leading the charge in making this transition smoother and more accessible for industries across North Goa.
