The second edition of India Energy Week (IEW) will be hosted in Goa from February 6th to 9th 2024, by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI) under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.

The India Energy Week serves as a catalyst for meaningful discussions, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among industry experts, policy-makers, academia and entrepreneurs. The event aims to foster partnerships, drive innovation, and explore solutions that will propel India’s energy sector into a sustainable and vibrant future.

IEW 2024 builds on the first edition of IEW which took place earlier in February, 2023 at Bengaluru. IEW 23 was inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi who underscored the unprecedented possibilities emerging in India’s energy sector. Ministers, CEOs and energy leaders acknowledged the resilience in India’s energy sector and its potential as an upcoming demand centre. They also appreciated India’s charting a roadmap to energy transition while catering to the needs of the domestic populous.

Against the backdrop of the year-long discussions of the G20 Presidency, and following on the pledges of COP28, the India Energy Week 2024 is envisioned to draw over 35,000 attendees, 350+ exhibitors, 400+ speakers and 4,000+ delegates, from over 100 countries. India Energy Week will host an extensive array of exhibitors, spanning core oil field services giants will converge to enrich the event’s dynamic atmosphere.

The spotlight at IEW 2024 will demonstrate India’s intricate energy landscape, characterised by a diverse energy mix, rapid growth in renewable energy, challenges related to energy access, urbanisation, and economic development, all within the context of addressing climate change. The country’s approach to managing these challenges and transitioning to a sustainable energy future and the opportunities for international collaboration and partnership it brings.

During IEW 2024, Ministerial, Leadership and technical sessions and Roundtables will explore varied themes like energy transition of the global south, building a future ready energy stack, chartering the roadmap of alternate fuels for energy optionality and impact of localization, regionalization and globalization on energy related industrialization and manufacturing processes.

The event will bring sharp focus to India’s tackling of climate change through its aggressive net-zero emission target by 2070 and reducing the total Carbon emission by 1 billion tonnes till 2030 while aiming for 50% of power generation to be from renewable energy in 2030.

IEW 2024 will also delve into the energy quadrilemma of balancing security, accessibility, affordability and sustainability, particularly for developing economies, fostering cooperation and collaboration between energy companies, building the future workforce for a new energy world. It will contribute towards placing India on the global energy map highlighting India’s potential as the 3rd-largest energy consumer in the world with projections to account for ~25% of the global energy incremental demand growth in the next 15-20 years.

IEW is poised to be a world class platform, convening policymakers, business leaders and energy pioneers to collaborate, discover new opportunities and strengthen partnerships.

The confluence of unique factors makes IEW 2024 an unmissable gathering for the global energy sector. India has positioned itself as an attractive investment destination across the energy sector supported by its credentials as the fastest growing large economy, supportive government policies, rapid urbanization and a fast-paced energy demand.

Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas; Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri succinctly summarized at IEW 2023, “To power our rapid growth, India is exploring new pathways to meet spiking energy demand domestically and internationally, while ensuring our transition to net-zero. Our multipronged strategy to diversify our energy mix safely and sustainably will see India transition to a gas based economy, bolstered by alternative energy sources including renewables, biofuels and green hydrogen.”

India Energy Week 2024 would facilitate the following:

● Ministers, CEOs, policy-makers, energy experts, industry analysts, innovators, and energy professionals from across the full energy value chain for open dialogue on accessible, affordable and secure energy for all platform for launch of important government initiatives in the energy sector
