Government of Goa has been bringing in reforms in the education sector right from the policy matters to the infrastructure development measures. And on Monday, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated the new building of Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education at Porvorim. Tourism and IT Minister Rohan Khaunte, Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai, were also present.
The project, which is carried out by GSIDC at a cost of Rs. 35 Crore; consists of libraries, meeting rooms, offices, Laboratories for IT and other facilities.
According to the Chief Minister, the GBSHSE new building shall contribute to the development of education with the National Education Policy 2020.
The new building of Goa Board, approaching its Golden Jubilee, has comprehensive state-of-the-art facilities and is another step of the Goa Government toward enhancing the development of academic facilities in the state of Goa, emphasised Dr Sawant.
Among recent boosts in the state education sector has been introduction of the Dual Degree Concept, successful implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) at the pre-primary level, and launching Vidhya Samiksha Kendra – a remote assessment mechanism to track performance as real-time data will offer invaluable insights into student progress, teacher training, and overall school performance.
