Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant marvelled at the high-quality infrastructure boasted by Goa, while acknowledging the great vision of the engineers. While addressing the Engineering Excellence Awards 2024 event by Gomantak TV, he called on the engineers to bring innovative ideas into play so that when they look back, they will feel proud to have played a role in executing successful projects.
Calling the Engineers nation-builders, Dr Sawant emphasised that Goa has ranked high on vision in the country while creating the bridge infrastructure (Atal Setu & Zuari 8-lane bridge), airport infrastructure (Manohar International Airport-Mopa), and Solid Waste Management plants among others.
The Chief Minister recounted the opposition from many quarters when concepts like Atal setu and new Zuari bridge were in development stage. He underlined the significance of engineers’ vision that ultimately proved supreme even as the people who opposed the projects were questioning the need for the proposed infrastructure.
