Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant urged youth to grab the entrepreneurship opportunities in various sectors and not have the mindset of looking for jobs. He felicitated students at the ‘Student Intern Buddy Felicitation’ programme, which was implemented successfully at the recent Amazing Goa Global Business Summit 2024 by Vibrant Goa Foundation.
The Chief Minister highlighted the Waste Management sector, on which the goverment spends at least Rs 350 Crore annually, as the one area full of opportunities for entrepreneurs, apart from Fisheries and Renewable Energy.
“Goan youth must develop out of the box thinking so that the business work culture gets ingrained in the society,” emphasised Dr Sawant.
Secretary for Industries, Trade and Commerce, Swetika Sachan asserted that development is necessary and it is all about how we mitigate the negative effect. Hence there exists a lot of scope in sector of waste management or greening Goa.
“We place a lot of emphasis on students being skilled and inspired to take up entrepreneurship,” stated Rajkumar Kamat, Chairman of Vibrant Goa Foundation.
