Tilak Devasher, national security advisory board member and noted author will speak on the topic, “Before and After Operation Sindoor: India, Pakistan and the Great Powers” on Saturday, May 24 at 6pm, stated a press release. The event which is part of the International Centre Goa’s (ICG) Public Lectures series is open and free to the public.
Devasher, is a retired special secretary, cabinet secretariat, Government of India and writes on security issues, especially those pertaining to India’s neighbourhood. He is the author of four widely acclaimed books on Pakistan: Pakistan: Courting the Abyss (2016); Pakistan: At the Helm (2018); Pakistan: The Balochistan Conundrum (2019); and The Pashtuns: A Contested History (2022).
Devasher has also edited three books for the Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF):Pakistan Insights 2019;Pakistan Insights 2020; and Pakistan Insights 2021-22.
As a bureaucrat, Devasher has served in Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and overseas. Presently, he is a member of the national security advisory board (NSAB) and consultant, VIF among other affiliations.
Devasher appears regularly on TV talk shows and writes for newspapers, magazines and think tank journals. He is an alumnus of the Mayo College, Ajmer and the St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.
