Minister for Social Welfare, Subhash Phal Dessai on Friday; briefed the media regarding Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan event.
Under the Janbhagidari Abhiyan, a total of 25 villages with sizeable Scheduled Tribes community across 9 talukas have been selected in Goa.
The Minister said that through the Janbhagidari Abhiyan, network facilities will be provided to villages with Tribal population. The initiative has been taken by state government Department of Tribal Welfare.
The mission objectives of the initiative are as follows-
• Raise awareness of individual rights, entitlements, and key government welfare schemes
• Ensure doorstep delivery of documents and benefits
• Promote participatory governance through community mobilization
• Empower tribal youth as Digital Warriors and grassroots change-makers
• Conduct SCD screening, awareness, and counseling at village and habitation levels.
