Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant graced the opening of Goa’s first private-owned ‘M.V. LRAJ GREEN’ solar-powered electric passenger/cruise boat in Panaji on Thursday.
Union Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shripad Naik; Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade, NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar were also present.
The Chief Minister congratulated Goa Solar Power House in coordination with LRAJ Green Solutions Pvt Ltd, for the eco-friendly initiative. “This indigenously built vessel is a major milestone in Goa’s journey towards clean energy, eco-tourism, and marine innovation. This 100% solar powered, emission-free & noise-free cruising vessel equipped with smart safety & digital features is built entirely in Goa, for Goa.”
Emphasising sustainable development inter-connecting various areas of economic potential, Dr Sawant stated: “This project reflects the growing synergy between technology, sustainability, and tourism, encouraging private players to invest in green innovation. The Government of Goa remains committed to building a Swayampurna, smart, and sustainable future, powered by clean energy and supported by the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.”
