Icy Ice Legends edged out Magic Touch to emerge champions of the Goa Badminton Premier League 2025, organised by the All India Malayalee Association (AIMA) – Goa Unit in collaboration with the Goa Badminton Association (GBA), at the Indoor Stadium, Campal, on Sunday.
In a power-packed summit clash, Icy Ice Legends showcased exceptional dominance to outplay Magic Touch 50–30, capping off a memorable campaign. Earlier in an exciting 3rd–4th place playoff, Margao High Flyers defeated Born Stars 50–40 to clinch the third place in a nail-biting thriller.
In the Group stage, Magic Touch topped Group A, while Born Stars edged out Bling Rangers and Viva Smashers on points difference after all three teams finished level on points.
In Group B, Icy Ice Legends stormed to the top, with Margao High Flyers securing second place. The semi-finals added to the thrill as Magic Touch beat Margao High Flyers 50–30, while Icy Ice Legends overwhelmed Born Stars 50–10 to set up a blockbuster title clash.
The League was played in a unique format where each tie consisted of nine doubles rubbers, with 10 points awarded per rubber win, ensuring high-paced action from start to finish. The champions took home a cash prize of ₹70,000, while the runners-up and third-place teams received ₹40,000 and ₹10,000 respectively, along with trophies.
