Founded by Goa’s first Chief Minister, Dayanand Bandodkar primarily as a cricket facility more than six decades ago, Panjim Gymkhana has now been studded with modern amenities for many other sports disciplines, leisure events and hospitality industry.
Family members of late Dayanand Bandodkar fondly known as Bhausaheb – daughter Kranti Rao, along with grand children Sameer Kakodkar and Yogesh Vengurlekar recently visited Panjim Gymkhana and were delighted to see the development and progress of this prestigious club.
The moment underlined a remarkable sense of accomplishment as the founder’s dream of building a world class sporting facility in the heart of Panaji city, has been fulfilled.
President of Panjim Gymkhana, Manoj Caculo along with the PG Managing Committee members briefed the family delegation about the sporting infrastructure, facilities of coaching and other facilities that focus on creating sportsmen for the state.
As professionalism brings in more expertise in cricketing affairs in particular, the key focus area at the core of Panjim Gymkhana remains the production of cricketers for Goa and India!
