Porvorim-based digital transformation firm Kilowott is set to aid in the development of Norway’s Gjøvik region, as part of its India initiative, in collaboration with Gjøvikregionen, a government-backed regional development organisation. In the bid to facilitate this initiative, Kilowott’s co-founder, Judah Fernandez and Strategic Outreach Partner, Sheraline Rocha visited Norway, in January.

The visit focussed on discussions around long-term strategic collaboration opportunities between the region and industry stakeholders. With an emphasis on building a collaborative model centered around close cooperation with local and regional agencies, the discussion focused on leveraging Kilowott’s strong presence in Norway and the Nordic region to support talent development, innovation and value creation by bridging academia, public bodies and the industry.

The key stakeholders involved in the discussions included the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) Gjøvik, Gjøvik Kommune, NTNU Gjøvik (Norwegian University of Science and Technology), Mustad Næringspark, Frostrøyk idé & design and the wider region.

The firm explored the idea of co-designing and piloting micro-credential programmes that could help students and early professionals transition smoothly from academic learning into fast-paced technology and innovation environments.

“It was a pleasure engaging in such insightful conversations with the stakeholders. The discussions focused on flexible, practical learning formats, delivered digitally or through hands-on workshops, that align closely with real-world industry needs. This initiative reflects Gjøvikregionen’s mission to strengthen the region’s business ecosystem, enhance access to skilled talent, and increase the region’s attractiveness for students, professionals, and public initiatives,” says Rocha, about the visit.

The visit comes at a time of increased engagement between India and Norway in order to improve economic co-operation.
Speaking about Kilowott’s outreach in Norway, Fernandez says, “From Kilowott’s perspective, the vision aligns closely with our experience in delivering short, industry-relevant programmes that equip graduates with hands-on skills in areas such as agile practices, AI applications, and scalable tech solutions.”

The visit and the ensuing discussions strengthened the firm’s presence in the Nordic region and highlighted how cross-border collaborations can facilitate education-to-industry pathways and regional innovation.
