Alino Colaco from Moira and Swapnil Mahadeshwar from Mapusa successfully completed the Coaches Development Program (Grassroot Level) conducted by the Badminton Association of India from April 18 to 27, 2026, at the National Centre of Excellence in Guwahati and Raipur.

Representing Goa with distinction, both participants underwent an intensive 8-day training program that focused on technical, practical, and grassroots coaching methodologies, culminating in a grading assessment that offers eligibility for the prestigious BAI Level-1 Certification for top performers.

Their achievement marks an important milestone in strengthening the coaching framework in Goa and furthering the development of badminton at the grassroots level.

GBA President Manoj Patil stated, “The Goa Badminton Association is committed to encouraging more and more youngsters to take up coaching and competitive badminton, as the sport continues to grow rapidly with increasing opportunities at all levels. Initiatives like these not only enhance technical expertise but also open up multiple avenues for aspiring players and coaches to excel on bigger platforms.”
