In a significant Institutional interaction aimed at promoting knowledge exchange and the sharing of best practices in Industrial Development and Governance, a high-level delegation from the Assam Industrial Development Corporation (Assam-IDC) visited Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC) on 3rd September’2026.
The delegation led by Topon Kumar Gogoi, Chairman, Assam-IDC, Navadeep Kalita, Vice-Chairman and Amitabh Barooa, Director interacted with the Managing Director of Goa-IDC, Pravimal P. Abhishek, IAS, alongwith other officials of the Corporation.
The Institutional interaction was organised with the objective of facilitating meaningful exchange of experiences and gaining insights into Goa-IDC’s institutional framework, governance practices, industrial promotion initiatives and operational systems developed to support Industries and Investors.
The discussions focused on Goa-IDC’s governance model and institutional reforms, policy initiatives for industrial promotion and ease of doing business, mechanisms for revenue generation and financial sustainability, as well as land allotment policies and the operational framework governing cluster-based industrial development.
The interaction also provided an opportunity for the Assam-IDC delegation to understand the initiatives undertaken by Goa-IDC towards strengthening transparency, improving institutional efficiency and developing an industry-focused governance ecosystem.
Commenting on the visit, Pravimal P. Abhishek, IAS, Managing Director, Goa-IDC, stated that “Such institutional exchanges are extremely valuable as they create an opportunity for development corporations across States to learn from each other’s experiences, innovations and governance practices. Goa-IDC has, over the years, undertaken significant institutional reforms with a focus on transparency, technology-led governance, investor facilitation and sustainable industrial development. We were pleased to share our experiences with the Assam-IDC delegation and also gain insights from their perspectives. Collaborative knowledge-sharing between institutions can contribute significantly towards strengthening industrial ecosystems and improving the delivery of services to investors and industry.”
During his interaction Topon Kumar Gogoi, Chairman, Assam-IDC stated that “We are grateful to Goa-IDC and its Managing Director, Shri Pravimal P. Abhishek, IAS, for the warm welcome and for the extremely insightful presentation on the initiatives and reforms being undertaken to strengthen Goa’s industrial sector. As part of the visit, the Assam-IDC delegation also undertook a site visit to the Verna Industrial Estate, one of Goa’s key Industrial clusters. The delegation was given an overview of the industrial infrastructure and facilities developed by Goa-IDC, along with ongoing initiatives related to estate management, infrastructure development and operational practices.
The delegation also visited leading Industrial establishments including Cipla, IFB and CommScope, providing them with an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into industrial operations and the ecosystem that has developed within the Verna Industrial Estate. The site visit further highlighted the role of planned industrial infrastructure and effective estate management in facilitating the growth of diverse industries.
The visit marked an important step towards strengthening Inter-State institutional cooperation and fostering the exchange of ideas on governance, industrial promotion and sustainable industrial development. Such engagements are expected to encourage greater collaboration between Industrial Development Corporations and contribute towards the adoption of effective practices across States.
