Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI), India’s leading shipbuilding and heavy engineering company, has announced a mass recruitment drive for over 270 positions for on-roll and blue-collar workforce at its shipyard in Pipavav, Gujarat.
SDHI will conduct walk-in interviews in Vasco on September 26 and Canacona (Goa) on September 27 for open positions across engineering, production, shipbuilding, refit, quality, and yard services.
India’s largest shipyard by capacity is home to the country’s largest dry dock and the largest fabrication facility. Under the new management, the shipyard has transformed into a state-of-the-art facility for shipbuilding, ship repair & refits, and heavy engineering. SDHI has also won key international export orders, including chemical tankers, ammonia dual-fuel bulk carriers, TRAnsverse tugs, and a training ship for the Royal Navy of Oman.
Back by a growing order book, the shipyard has launched a mass recruitment drive, with over 70 positions for managers and engineers for roles across fabrication, hull & block outfit, propulsion, piping, mechanical & systems quality, ship support systems, blasting and painting, and material handling equipment, among others.
Around 200 positions are also open for skilled and experienced Technicians, including fitters, welders, operators and electricians. The recruitment drive is part of SDHI’s efforts to strengthen its workforce across shipbuilding, ship repair, engineering, and yard operations; stated a press release.
