Taking governance directly to the people, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and State Ministers led the statewide ‘Sarkar Tumchya Daari – Government at Your Doorstep’ programme across 10 talukas of Goa under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ on Saturday. The initiative provided citizens with a direct platform to raise their concerns, interact with public representatives and seek timely redressal of grievances.

Presiding over the programme in Pernem, Dr. Sawant interacted individually with citizens at Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Government College, listened to their grievances and contacted the concerned departmental authorities on the spot to facilitate necessary action. The programme provided citizens with a direct platform to bring their concerns to the attention of the administration, with efforts made to resolve issues through immediate coordination with the respective departments.

Emphasising the need for responsive and citizen-focused administration, the Chief Minister directed the heads of the concerned departments to prioritise public welfare, respond promptly to citizens’ grievances and ensure effective delivery of government services. He also inaugurated an exhibition organised at the college entrance and planted a guava tree on the campus as part of the programme.

Simultaneously, ‘Sarkar Tumchya Daari’ programmes were held across the other nine talukas of Goa-Salcete, Bicholim, Sattari, Tiswadi, Ponda, Mormugao, Sanguem, Dharbandora and Canacona. Designated ministers presided over the programmes in their respective talukas, while senior IAS and IFS officers accompanied the Chief Minister and Ministers to facilitate coordination between citizens and the administration. The programmes provided citizens with an opportunity to raise their grievances and seek assistance from the concerned authorities.

The statewide initiative forms part of the Government of Goa’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, aimed at making governance more accessible, responsive and citizen-centric. By bringing public representatives and officials closer to communities, the programme seeks to strengthen public participation, improve coordination among government departments and facilitate timely attention to citizens’ concerns.

The programme in Pernem was graced by V. Candavelou, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Goa; Jit Arolkar, MLA, Mandrem Constituency; Pravin Arlekar, MLA, Pernem Constituency; Sanjeev Gadkar, IAS, Secretary, Civil Supplies; and Dayanand Sopte, former MLA, Mandrem Constituency, along with other officials.
