The eight participating franchises—Baale Tigers, Manas Mavericks, Dempo Challengers, RC Goa, Priority Titans, Desserts n More Avengers, Sherwin Shaw Falcons, and Sun Estate Warriors—began assembling their squads for the flagship tournament scheduled to take place in January and February 2027.
The high-stakes auction brought together team owners and management as they finalised their tactical combinations for the forthcoming edition.
Garg fetched the highest bid of the day, going to Baale Tigers for a staggering 90.2 lakh points. The second-highest pick of the auction was Abhinav Bhatt, who was secured by Dempo Challengers for 83.5 lakh points, while Priority Titans snapped up Mukhtar Kadri for 76 lakh points.
Avishkar Mone, one of the retained players, was associated with Manas Mavericks at 73.7 lakh points, while Gauresh Ganpat Khandeparkar joined RC Goa for 70 lakh points, rounding off the top five highest-valued players at the auction.
The event also featured the unveiling of the official team jerseys for KINECO PGML 6.0, marking a key milestone ahead of the tournament.
The event was organised by the Governing Council and Managing Committee of Panjim Gymkhana under the leadership of President Manoj Caculo and Honorary Secretary Rajesh Khaunte.
Expressing his excitement for the upcoming edition, Caculo noted that all eyes would be on which team manages to lift the coveted trophy this year.
“This year, we are very excited about the upcoming KINECO PGML 6.0. The last five years have been a fantastic journey. No team till now has been able to retain the cup; every year, we have had a new winner. So, let’s see who wins it this time. This auction saw the highest number of registrations ever made. The teams are bidding very vociferously to build the best squad. May the best team win,” Caculo said.
He also urged Goan cricket enthusiasts to turn up in large numbers and support the event.
“I urge people to come to Panjim Gymkhana every weekend in January and February to enjoy this carnival of cricket. A lot of effort goes into this. There is going to be fierce competition, lovely friendship, and camaraderie—everybody will enjoy it. You will experience an electrifying atmosphere at Panjim Gymkhana,” he added.
Thanking the franchises for their continued backing, Khaunte said, “Panjim Gymkhana’s spirit goes beyond competition—it is about camaraderie, growth, and celebrating the love for cricket. Season 6 will undoubtedly be our most exciting edition yet.”
Kineco is the title sponsor for PGML 6.0, with Majestic Pride joining as co-sponsor, Golden Goa as hydration partner, and Swastik Hospital as medical partner.
