SANQUELIM BADMINTON LEAGUE 2021: MLT SHUTTLERS EMERGE CHAMPIONS, PSP WARRIORS RUNNERS-UP

PANAJI: MLT Shuttlers were crowned champions while PSP Warriors secured the runners-up position at the second Sanquelim Badminton League at Sanquelim Indoor stadium.

Organised by Sanquelim Shuttlers in collaboration with Goa Badminton Association (GBA), the Sanquelim Badminton League (SBL-2021)  witnessed an overwhelming participation from over 110 players across 10 teams over three days. Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant graced the occasion.

Talented shuttlers such as Minoska Pereira, Rudra Fadte, Kaushika Gaonkar, Asmita Kandolkar, Ganapati Bedrekar were awarded with Individual prizes as well for their exemplary performance throughout the league.

Team La Tara Smashers ended up in the third position and Overlockedd Droppers finished 4th. Team owners – Prashant Desai, Yeshwant Desai, Gajanan Parab, Bala Sawant, Ganesh Sawant, Siddhesh Amonkar, Sunil Shirodkar, Dr. Vishwanath Marathe, Mustafa A., Anil Nair were felicitated by Sanquelim Shuttlers for their most valuable contribution to the league.

Yeshwant Desai, President of Sanquelim Shuttlers, said: “I congratulated winners and all the participants for their valuable contribution in making this event a grand success. Our aim is to promote the badminton through various such initiatives and to nurture the talents in order to contribute towards upliftment of the Goa’s badminton.”

Narahar Thakur, President of Goa Badminton Association, said: “We are highly elated to collaborate with Sanquelim Shuttlers for organising the 2nd edition of badminton league and we are extremely happy to drive the steep growth in the badminton promotion initiatives across Goa, which will help in taking Goa’ Badminton to much greater heights.”

Sanquelim Badminton League is one such platform helping us to further widen reach of our badminton promotion initiatives,” said Sandeep Heble, GBA Secretary.
