PANAJI: Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI presented a dossier of important suggestions and amendments to VAT and other local commercial laws, as well as a pre-budget memorandum; to Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant recently.
According to a press release by Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI, the suggestions were sourced by the branch from all the CAs in Goa; and added that the committee stressed on the important demand of extension and expansion of scope of the ‘One Time Settlement’ scheme of GOA VAT, which would not only benefit the state exchequer, but also reduce litigation and also serve as a welcome breather to the Goa industry at large.
“The Chief Minister informed us that he was abreast of the matter and that he wanted to resolve the issue to satisfaction of all parties. He said he will study our suggestions and call us for further deliberations. The proposals of the Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI were taken very positively and we appreciate the patient hearing afforded to us by the Chief Minister,” stated Chairman of the Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI, CA Gaurav Kenkre
The committee informed the chief minister about the state of the art infrastructure of Goa ICAI at Kadamba Plateau; and once again extended its full support to the Goa Government in all its initiatives.
