AICTE–ISTE FDP ON GENERATIVE AI DRAWS TO A CONCLUSION AT DON BOSCO COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

The Valedictory Ceremony of the One-Week AICTE–ISTE Faculty Development Programme on “Unlocking Gen AI: Concepts, Tools & Research-Driven Applications”, was held on 28th November 2025 at Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda.

The programme, conducted from 24–28 November, featured five days of expert sessions, hands-on training, research-focused discussions, and collaborative learning.

The ceremony was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Niyan Marchon, Program Director & Professor, Directorate of Higher Education, and Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Majik, Professor, Research Development & Innovation, Directorate of Higher Education, who served as Special Guest and Judges for the Capstone Presentations. Also present were Dr. Andrew D’Souza and Prof. Vassant Narulkar as special invitees.

On the same final day, participants visited IFB Industries, Verna, where they observed advanced manufacturing processes and automation systems. The interaction with industry experts provided insights into AI-driven quality control, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making, reinforcing the practical applications of Generative AI.

Participants presented innovative AI-based Capstone Projects addressing academic, industrial, and research problems. Projects covered areas such as AI-enabled educational support systems, document automation, productivity enhancement tools, and industry-focused AI applications. The judges commended the quality of work and offered constructive feedback for further development and publication.

Prof. (Dr.) Niyan Marchon encouraged educators to embrace AI-led transformation and drive innovation in academic ecosystems. Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Majik praised the depth of the project work and motivated participants to pursue interdisciplinary research and scholarly contributions.

A total of 53 faculty members from all together 13 colleges across Goa, participated in this workshop which included 4 Engineering colleges along with 9 general colleges. Certificates were awarded to all participants who successfully completed the programme.

Certificates & appreciation were given to winners of Capstone Project activity and 3 outstanding participants were awarded with certificates and prizes. They were Prof. Nirmala Abreu from Sant Soirobanath Ambiye Government College Pernem, Prof. Jyoti Pandey from Don Bosco College Panjim & Prof. Mahi Itagi from Padre Conceicao college of Engineering, Verna.
