The Boys U15 Doubles semi-finals at the Yonex-Sunrise All India Sub Junior (U-15 & U-17) Ranking Badminton Tournament 2025, being held at the Multipurpose Stadium, Peddem, saw a sensational performance by Haryana’s Jaivardhan Hooda and Delhi’s Harshit Khatri.
The dynamic pair stunned second seeds Hemanth Sri Sammetla (AP) and Wazir Singh (PNB) in a gripping three-game thriller, winning 21-16, 11-21, 21-17 to book their place in the final.
Earlier in the day, Wazir Singh made amends in the Boys U15 Singles, where he pulled off a stunning upset over top seed Pushkar Sai (KTK) with a dominant 21-10, 21-8 victory. He now faces Harshit Khatri, who continued his excellent form by defeating fifth seed Anshuman Choudhary (RAJ) 21-15, 21-12.
Top-seeded Dev Ruparelia (MAH) eased past Akhil Reddy Bobba (TS) 21-9, 21-14 in the Boys U17 Singles semi-finals, while Bornil Akash Changmai (ASM) kept the Northeast hopes alive with a solid 21-18, 21-12 win over Shaurya Mishra (MP).
In the Girls U15 Singles, Karnataka’s top seed Shaina Manimuthu stayed on course for the crown with a 21-14, 21-19 victory over Rajasthan’s Anvi Rathore, while fourth seed Aryama Chakraborty (WB) got the better of Telangana’s Hamsini Chadaram 21-15, 21-16.
Meanwhile, in Girls U17 Singles, Tamil Nadu’s Mohitha Polavaram edged past Hamsini Chadaram (TS) 21-19, 21-19, and Delhi’s Rishika Nandi upset third seed Aadhira Rajkumar (TN) 15-21, 21-18, 21-11 to earn her spot in the final.
