In Goa, it’s never really late to set sail for an adventure! Senior citizens of the Old Goa-based Aaji Care Centre had a unique experience during a river cruise along the backwaters of Mandovi river .
The cruise for the senior citizens between 65 to 80 years was organised by Drishti Foundation with the objective of providing a leisurely outing for the residents of the Aaji Care Centre and providing them with a welcome break from their routine.
During the cruise, senior citizens enjoyed the search for migratory birds and crocodiles, making the outing a memorable one for them.
Cdr Arun Patil, Director of the Drishti Foundation said that the river cruise is an emotionally positive experience which the organisation wanted the senior citizens to savour.
Ananyaa Bath, senior Drishti Marine lifesaver, accompanied the senior members on the river cruise.
Dr Subbu Nayak, of the Aaji Care Center shared, “We have outings like this to give them a change in scenery. Participating in this river cruise allows us to give the senior citizens a change of perspective, environment and a different scenery.”
