Arnav Saraf, Advait Balakrishnan and Ritika Chelluri emerged as the standout performers, bagging double crowns each at the State Sub Junior (U15 & U17) Badminton Ranking Tournament organised by Radiant Sports Club in aegis with the Goa Badminton Association, at the Indoor Stadium, Ponda.
Arnav won the U15 Boys Doubles title with Sparsh Kolwalkar, defeating Atharv Sadaye and Shaan C K, and later teamed up with Niharika Parwar to clinch the Mixed Doubles title against Sparsh Kolwalkar and Aaryaa Metry. Advait lifted the U17 Boys Doubles title with Owais Tahasildar, overcoming Devansh Sakpal and Vansh Khedkar, and added the U17 Mixed Doubles crown with Ritika Chelluri by beating Vansh Khedkar and Sufiya Shaikh. Ritika also claimed the U17 Girls Singles title, in a straight games win over Shivanjali Thite.
In the Boys U15 Singles final, Mohammed Umar showed fine form to beat Ateendra Gaonkar 21-16, 21-15, while top seed Dimple Revankar overcame a stiff challenge from Niharika Parwar to win the Girls U15 Singles 21-11, 22-20. In the Girls U15 Doubles final, Avni Khyalia and Palak Ramnathkar rallied from a game down to edge past second seeds Aaryaa Metry and Anaya Kamat in three tight games.
The Boys U17 Singles final saw Aarush Pawaskar bounce back from a game down to down top seed Advait Balakrishnan in a thrilling 16-21, 21-17, 21-14 victory. In the Girls U17 Doubles, Shivanjali Thite and Sufiya Shaikh held off a strong fight from Dimple Revankar and Ritika Chelluri to win in three close games.
