Maritime avenues hold an important scope in Viksit Bharat 2047 goal and it needs ever-increasing volume of manpower, emphasied Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant.
The Chief Minister graced the celebration of International Day of the Seafarers 2025 at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The function was organised by the Goan Seamen Association of India.

“With the Blue Economy being at the core of Viksit Bharat 2047 goal, the maritime sector needs skilled man and women to make their contribution. Goa has a tradition of providing manpower for the maritime sector since over a century now,” stated Dr Sawant, who congratulated the Goan Seamen Association of India for taking up various issues on regular basis.
“My Harassment-Free Ship” is the theme for this year. It serves as a powerful reminder that dignity, respect, and safety must anchor every voyage. Goa takes pride in being the only state in India to offer a dedicated Seafarers’ Pension Scheme. We remain committed to strengthening welfare initiatives, enhancing skill development, and expanding global opportunities for our seafaring community,” asserted the Chief Minister.
