Bluegrass Journeymen (BJ) band of the USA concluded their month-long music residency at the Goa Jazz Academy (GJA) with a music concert in collaboration with their students on Friday evening.

The last four weeks saw the BJ conduct a series of free music classes in collaboration with the GJA, sharing their rehearsal process and musical approach with young students and the Goan community.
The Friday concert saw the BJ perform a set of their finest original and traditional repertoire, reflecting the depth and vitality of the Bluegrass tradition. The evening also featured four collaborative pieces, with students joining the band on mandolin, banjo, violin, and guitar.

According to Divya Gupta, co-founder, GJA, this music concert highlighted the spirit of exchange that defined the residency. “Students not only studied the music in the classroom, but experienced the discipline and energy of live performance alongside professional musicians,” she said.
