The newly-released books based on Goa’s Liberation struggle, are bound to make the history-buffs excited. Moreover, the students stand a chance of learning about the sacrifices of the freedom fighters in a wider perspective.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant released the books translated in English from Portuguese under Source Material of the Freedom Movement of Goa by the Department of Goa Gazetteer and Historical Records, in the presence of Executive Editor Dr Balaji Shenvy and others.
These books include Trials of Umakant Sinai Kantak, Narmada Prasad Sharma, Shirubhau Limaye, Sridhar Shirsat, Rajnikant Mahatme, Vishwanath Gude, Dinanath Ambe, Gurudas Kunde, Laxmi Painguinkar, Suryakanti Fal Desai and Gangadhar Lolienkar.
“These books shall shed a new light on the Goa Freedom struggle and bring out the heroics of Freedom Fighters who laid their lives for Goa,” posted the Chief Minister on X.
