Aarin Ballani, Gaurav Sapra; and seasoned pairing of Lincoln Furtado and Savio Vales emerged winners at the BPS Open Pickleball Championship 2026 in Margao.
In the Men’s Doubles 60+ final, Lincoln Furtado and Savio Vales produced a dominant performance to defeat James Anderson and Parag Joshi 11–2, 11–2. The Margao-based duo had earlier worked through competitive rounds asserting control in the final to secure the title, adding to Lincoln’s strong run following his success in the Men’s Singles 60+ category earlier in the tournament.
In the Men’s Singles 50+ category, Sapra clinched the title with a straight-games victory over Wilfred Jacques, winning the final 11–4, 11–8. Sapra reached the summit clash after defeating Lincoln Furtado 15–7 in the semifinals, while Jacques advanced to the final with a 15–2 win over Savio Vales.
The Junior categories saw Ballani stamp his authority with titles in both Under-12 and Under-16 singles. In the Under-12 final, Ballani defeated Arsh Sardesai 15–3 after a dominant run through the rounds. He followed this up with a composed 15–7 win over Aryaveer Anirudh Agrawal in the Under-16 singles final, having earlier beaten Tivisha Sardessai 15–6 in the semifinals.
In the Mixed Doubles 50+ final, Karan and Melanie lifted the title with a convincing 11–2, 11–2 win over Noel Noronha and Shubhangi Borker. The champions had earlier defeated Willy and Audrey 15–7 in the semifinals to progress.
Lincoln also emerged champion in the Men’s Singles 60+ category, while defending champions Nihaal Borkar and Ruta Borkar successfully retained the 35+ Mixed Doubles title.
In the Men’s Singles 60+ final, Lincoln Furtado defeated James Anderson 11–4 to clinch the title. Earlier in the semi-finals, Anderson had edged past Parag Joshi 15–12, while Lincoln overcame Savio Vales by an identical 15–12 margin. In round-robin matches, Anderson defeated Capt. Ravi Peris 11–7 and Lincoln 11–8, Parag Joshi beat Shailendra Singh 11–4, Savio Vales defeated Parag Joshi 11–6 and Shailendra Singh 11–1, while Lincoln also beat Capt. Ravi Peris 11–2.
The 35+ Mixed Doubles final saw Nihaal Borkar and Ruta Borkar register a hard-fought 11–8, 10–12, 11–9 win over Immanuel Rohan and Audrey Menezes. In the semi-finals, Immanuel Rohan and Audrey Menezes defeated James Anderson and Jen Noronha 11–7, while Nihaal and Ruta Borkar progressed after Nishant Verghese and Gitanjli Chauhan retired while trailing 12–5.
Earlier rounds witnessed Nishant Verghese and Gitanjli Chauhan defeating Chirag Sukerkar and Karishma Verlekar 11–8, Immanuel Rohan and Audrey Menezes overcoming Nihaal Borkar and Ruta Borkar 11–8, and Nishant and Gitanjli registering an 11–1 win over James Anderson and Jen Noronha. James Anderson and Jen Noronha later edged Chirag Sukerkar and Karishma Verlekar 12–10.
