Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant emphasised on the government’s continual endeavour to empower women in the country while addressing the Capacity Building Program ‘Catalysts for Change: Driving Effective Implementation of Gender Inclusive Legislations’ jointly organised by National Commission for Women & National Gender and Child Center at LBSNAA.
“We are steadfast in our commitment to strengthen Gender Inclusive Legislations & empower the Nari Shakti pillar of the aim of Viksit Bharat,” stated the Chief Minister in the presence of Chairperson of National Commission for Women, Vijaya Rahatkar, Chairperson of Goa State Commission for Women, Ranjitha Pai.
Deputy Director LBSNAA Deep J Contractor, Deputy Secretary National Commission for Women, Shivani Dey were also present.
Dr Sawant analysed the women empowering initiatives right from Goa’s Laadli Laxmi scheme started under ex-Chief Minister Late Dr. Manohar Parrikar; till nationwide campaign Beti Bachao Beti Padhao a brainchild of PM Narendra Modi that has brought a remarkable improvement in gender ratio. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the 3-day programme will generate impactful discussions in view of the crucial role the DMs would be playing in future. “I welcome the District Magistrates from 9 States who have come to Goa for this Capacity Building Program,” he added.
