CBC GOA MARKS KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS WITH CULTURAL PROGRAMME AT DR. HEDGEWAR HS

Central Bureau of Communication, Goa, Ministry of information and Broadcasting, Government of India, marked the Kargil Vijay Diwas by organising a programme at Dr. K B Hedgewar High School, Cujira, Bambolim.

Major Ayush Pathak, 5 Technical Training Regiment, Bambolim Camp, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, told the gathering that the student community had a very important role in leading the nation to the goal of Viksit Bharat. “It is the teachers who play the most important role in nation building as they are the ones who create the heroes for the country. There are future doctors, engineers, scientists, and soldiers among the students sitting here. I am sure for your future endeavours, you will draw inspiration from the heroes who laid down their lives for the country. Let us all pay our tributes to the martyrs of Kargil War on this occasion for their unimaginable sacrifice for the country,” he said while addressing the students.

Nana Meshram, Director, Press Information Bureau, Goa, Government of India, said that government of India has organised programmes across the country to observe the 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas, a day that shines like a beacon of pride in India’s history.

“It marks the glorious victory of 1999 when our soldiers, braving snow-clad peaks and relentless enemy fire, reclaimed the heights of Kargil with unmatched courage and unwavering resolve. This anniversary is not just a date on the calendar, it is a stirring reminder of the grit and unity that define India. It is a salute to the men who fought in rarefied air and freezing winds, turning every peak into a testament of their bravery,” he said.

Vilas Satarkar, Headmaster, Hedgewar High School, thanked the CBC Goa for collaborating to organise the event. “Events like this will encourage the students to draw inspiration from our real heroes in their path ahead,” he said.

At the event, Riyas Babu, Publicity Officer, CBC Goa, felicitated Major Ayush Pathak as a token of appreciation for the armed forces for their service to the nation.  Vilas Satarkar was also felicitated at the event.

The event also featured cultural performances by the students and the artists of the CBC. The CBC had organised Elocution, Drawing, and Rangoli competitions for the students to mark the occasion. The winners of the competitions were given prizes at the event.
