The Office of the State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities (SCPwD), Goa, in collaboration with the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), extended a warm invitation to the Chief Justice of India, Justice B.R. Gavai, to be part of the International Purple Fest Goa 2025, scheduled to take place in Goa from 9th to 12th October 2025.
The festival brochure was formally presented by Guruprasad Pawaskar (State Commissioner, PwDs), Varsha Naik (Director, DEPwD) and Taha Haaziq (Secretary, SCPwD). The occasion was also graced by Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, Justice Alok Aradhe, Justice Mahesh Sonak, Justice Valmiki Menezes. Also present were senior journalist Prakash Kamat, Patrick D’Souza (President, Disability Alliance for Inclusive Goa), Sadaf Khan and Vishant Nagvekar.
The International Purple Fest has become India’s most inclusive movement of abilities, bringing together global experts, policymakers and members of the disability community. The 2025 edition will showcase innovations, policy dialogues, cultural expressions and best practices that promote accessibility and empowerment.
Speaking on the occasion Guruprasad Pawaskar, stated: “Purple Fest has emerged as a symbol of hope, dignity, and equal opportunity for persons with disabilities. By inviting the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, we aim to strengthen the message that accessibility and inclusivity are fundamental rights, not privileges. Purple Fest 2025 will be a defining platform where policy, innovation, and community come together to shape a more inclusive future for all.”
