Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant underlined ‘dentistry’ as a major part of medical tourism in Goa. He was speaking after inaugurating the 18th Goa State Indian Dental Association Conference at Miramar on Sunday.
“We are promoting medical tourism. I see a big number of dentists practicing along the coastline. But I also noted some fakes in the business too. They target the foreigners and if this message goes out, it will affect your practice. The government will act against the fakes but for that, you must come forward to complain,” pointed out the Chief Minister, who hailed the Goan dental community especially the women being the majority of the fraternity, for doing excellent work.
Dr Sawant also praised the dentists for their help in diagnosis of Oral cancer patients in the state.
“I congratulate the Indian Dental Association, Goa State Branch for this conference. The IDA Goa Branch is conducting various CDE, Free Dental Check-Up camps in Goa. The Govt. Of Goa is committed to support the Dental practitioners in the state and extend support for the development of new branches and modern technologies in Dental treatments, including oral cancer,” tweeted the CM.
