Government of Goa is exploring the prospect of having Barça FC Barcelona Academy India Centre in the State.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant revealed in a post on X, that he held a meeting with officials from Barça FC Barcelona Academy India at Mahalaxmi, Altinho, in the presence of Director of Sports & Youth Affairs Dr Ajay Gaude and MD of GTDC, Kuldeep Arolkar.
“Had a fruitful discussion with Shri Carlos Palacin, Global Head of Business, Barça Academy; Shri Abhishek Saklani, CEO & Co-Founder; Shri Jatin Ahluwalia, MD & Co-Founder; and Shri Aditya, Marketing Lead, on the proposal to establish a Barça Academy in Goa.
“We discussed the support required from the Government and the role of academy towards development of world-class coaching and training facilities to nurture young football talent in the State,” read the post by the Chief Minister.
