CONVERGE 2024: INDUSTRY-ACADEMIA CONNECT EVENT AT 7 COLLEGES FROM JANUARY 15

The first edition of ‘CONVERGE 2024’ – Shiksha-Udyojak Sangam, a Industry – Academia connect
will be held from 15th to 20 January 2024 at the seven partner Colleges across Goa.

This Industry-Academia collabration event, is being organised by the Centralized Training Internship and Placement (TIP) cell of Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) and Goa State Higher Education Council in association with seven Government Colleges of Arts, Science and Commerce from Sanquelim, Quepem, Pernem, Margao-Borda, Khandola, Music and Home Science college.

The conference will be inaugurated on the 15th January 2024 at 10am by the Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant with the Secretary Education, Prasad Lolayekar, IAS as the Guest of Honour at the Government college of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim.

Director DHE, Bhushan Savoikar and other guests consisting of Industry personnel from IBM, corporate heads and founders from Goa, academicians, principals, TIP coordinators, Institution Innovation cell (IIC) convenors, college faculty and students will be present.

The conference will consist of over 50 sessions from Industry experts and professonals, panel discussions, project exhibits by Industry and students, entrepreneurship stalls, management games by faculty and students. Around 4000 students will participate from all these colleges. The event is powered by IBM India Pvt. Ltd with REACHA as its implemenation partner.

The main objectives of CONVERGE are to: Bridge gaps between Industry & academia, to motivate students towards entrepreneurship & Startups, collabrate with Industry for academic curriculum, projects, internships and make students Industry-ready for job placements.

The organising team from DHE & GSHEC comprise  Prof. (Dr.) Niyan Marchon, Saurabh Naik, Vasant Narulkar and Shahana Sheikh.
