Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant laid the Foundation Stone for the IOCL Fuel Pump at Colvale & Sub Jail Sada; and inaugurated the Sewerage Treatment Plant, Paper Waste Recycling Project & Water Conservation Project at Central Jail Colvale on Thursday.
Under the CSR initiatives of IOCL, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Goa Carbon Ltd; the multiple projects are expected to bring lot of benefit towards sustainability endeavour.
“I congratulate Goa Carbon, IOCL, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals for the taking a step forward for the projects. These projects shall save 75 Lakh Cubic Meter Rain Water, Paper Recycling Project shall turn the prison into a recreational center. It gives me pleasure to note that it is first such recreational center in the country. The Govt of Goa is committed to enhance infrastructure, projects with cooperation of private sector in the state,” remarked the Chief Minister.
Chairperson of Goa State Women’s Commision Ranjita Pai, Dempo Group chairman Shrinivas Dempo, representatives of IOCL, other officials graced the occasion.
