SS Dempo College, Cujira, outclassed Government College, Khandola, by 86 runs in the final to bag the annual Inter-Collegiate Cricket Championship for Men 2022-23 organised by Goa University from 10th March to 6th April at University ground, Goa University, Taleigao Plateau. In all, 40 teams participated in the championship.
Put into bat, Dempo College were a dominant force as they posted a mountain of a total 217/5 in the allotted 20 overs. With a host of Goa players in the side of the likes of Anand Tendulkar, who scored a quickfire 79 runs of 39 balls, and a consistent Sagar Vantamuri with 49 runs in 26 balls, Dempo charged off the blocks. Their overwhelmed opponents Govt. College, Khandola, made a lot of errors in the field and leaked runs. Prathamesh Kunkalkar (1/37), Rishab Gaonkar (1/31) and Rishikesh Naik (1/11) were amongst wickets.
In their reply, the Khandola college raced to 46/2 in 5 overs but lost their momentum due to regular fall of wickets and were restricted to 131/9 in 20 overs. Prasad Harle with 26 runs in 11 balls, and Prathamesh Sawant with 23 in 10 balls, waged a bit of a battle.
Dempo’s Sagar Vantamuri took 5 wickets conceding only 22 runs while Mehank Dharwadkar picked 1/17, Anand Tendulkar 1/24 and Abhinandan Thakur

Following individual prizes were awarded: Best Batter – Anand Tendulkar of S.S. Dempo College, Best Bowler – Prasad Harle of Govt. College, Khandola, Player of the tournament – Sagar Vantamuri of S. S. Dempo College.
