Government of Goa’s Department of Higher Education, Government of Goa; in collaboration with the Bharti Institute of Public Policy, Indian School of Business (ISB) organised an Advanced-Level Research Workshop from December 8th to 13th, at the Bharti Institute of Public Policy, ISB in Mohali-Punjab.
The workshop aimed to enhance the research capabilities of 31 Social Science faculty members (Batch I) from Higher Education Institutes across Goa. The workshop provided a comprehensive exploration of advanced research techniques and methodologies. Through a combination of theoretical sessions and practical exercises, participants were exposed to critical thinking, structured writing, data visualization, India data portal and ethical research practices.
Interactive sessions, including Knowledge Cafe, blog writing, facilitated peer-to-peer learning, Root Cause analysis , mind mapping and knowledge sharing. Additionally, innovative approaches like transforming research papers into visual representations were introduced to enhance communication and understanding. By the end of the workshop, participants were equipped with the necessary skills to conduct rigorous social science research and effectively communicate their findings.
The faculty from HEIs from Goa interacted and collabrated with various social Science research experts from ISB Mohali such as Dr. Anjal Prakash, Dr. Siddharth Sharma, Dr. Amrita Charaborty, Dr Ashish Sachdeva and Dr. Pallavi.
This workshop was promoted to enrich the social science research faculty by Prasad Lolayekar, (IAS) Secretary Education. Director DHE, Bhusan Savaikar encouraged the faculty with his support. The coordination and implementation of the workshop was efficently done by the Teaching Learning & Educational Technology (TLET) and Research Development sections at DHE. The overall workshop at ISB Mohali was co-ordinated by Prof. Dr. Niyan Marchon along with the team such as Dr. Mahesh Majik, Vasant Narulkar and Manoj Dev.
