Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, won the Inter-Collegiate Tennis Championship for Men; organised by Goa University at S.A.G Tennis Court, Fatorda Sports Complex, on 8th & 9th January, 2025.
Don Bosco College of Engineering defeated VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce & Economics, Margao 2-1 in the final.
Raoul Vas of Don Bosco College of Engineering beat Samprabh Phaldessai of Shree Damodar College 6-2 to win the first tie of the finals. In the second singles, Sanath Nevgi of Shree Damodar College defeated Deion Braganza of Don Bosco College of Engineering, 2-6 to level the score.
In the deciding doubles, Don Bosco College of Engineering represented by Raoul Vas & Pranil Naik defeated Samprabh Phaldessai & Jabiullah Bankapur of Shree Damodar College 4-6 to lift the Goa University Inter Collegiate title.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Shree Damodar College downed St. Joseph College Vaz College, Cortalim 2-0. Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda edged Don Bosco College, Panjim, 2-1. In all, 19 teams participated in the two-day Tennis Championship.
Raoul Vas from Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, was named the best player of the tournament.
Prof. Sanjay Dessai, Officiating Principal of VVM’s Shree Damodar College, Margao, was the Chief guest. Guest of Honour Suresh Kadam, Tennis coach along with Balachandra Jadar, Assistant Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University, also graced the occasion.
