Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant announced that the ‘Manohar Parrikar Yuva Scientist Award 2024’ will be presented to Dr. Mohit Kumar Jolly from Department of Bioengineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. The award will be presented at Manohar Parrikar Vigyan Mahotsav on 13th December 2024 at NIO Dona Paula.
Dr Mohit Kumar Jolly, who is doing research in Cancer treatment, was selected as the recipient the prestigious award from amongst 82 applicants. Twelve candidates were shortlisted for personal interview and after intense scrutiny by an expert committee headed by Dr. Anil Kakodkar the final recipient was selected, revealed the Chief Minister.
“Applications were received from top research institutes across the country, indicating the increasing popularity of the Award. This award is a one of a kind initiative of the Government of Goa launched to motivate young scientific minds in Goa and across the country to excel in Science and benefit humanity at a large scale. The award comprises of 5 lakhs rupees and a citation, which is currently the highest cash prize in science and technology in the country,” Dr Sawant posted in social media platform X.
