The Goa Branch of WIRC of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated 75th Chartered Accountants Day on Saturday (1st July 2023). The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India was established on 1st July 1949, with the noble vision of promoting and regulating the accountancy profession in our country.
Over the past seven and a half decades, the ICAI has played a pivotal role in shaping the accounting landscape of India and has emerged as a global leader in the field. The Goa branch organised various health camps such as blood check-up, breast cancer awareness and an eye check-up, on the occasion.
“Health and Wealth should go together; it is equally important to ensure we tally our health balance sheet like we do in our financial balance sheets. In busy day schedules, deadlines, high stress, one forgets to concentrate on critical health parameters and staying fit takes a back burner. Goa Branch celebrated the 75th foundation day by creating awareness about various health goals and habits that one should cultivate to stay fit. Health should be the prerogative, hence Goa branch invited Dr. Rajesh Javherani, a well-known Diabetologist and Intensive Critical Care Expert to address members on the principle of staying fit.
“We hope this session and the awareness camps will spur members to stay fit. Branch will do even more events in this direction,” said Thomas Andrade, Chairman of Goa Branch of WIRC of ICAI.
Senior chartered accountants were felicitated. There was a donation drive conducted to collect articles which were donated to Matruchhaya Trust, an orphanage for children. All attendees were gifted saplings to spread the message of save soil, save the planet earth, stated a press release.
