Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) put up a dominating show against Dempo SC in the Dream Sports Championship Football 2025 National Finals Day 3, as they registered a big 5-0 win on Thursday. Captain Shawn Fernandes led from the front, scoring four out of the five goals in the ongoing U-17 tournament.
The captain opened the scoring in the 12th minute, following it up with another goal in the 14th minute, to help his side take a 2-0 lead in the first half. Fernandes continued his form in the second half, adding two more goals to his tally. He completed his hat-trick in the 65th minute and then scored his fourth goal in the 68th minute. Substitute Harshal Manigandan also scored in the 71st minute.
In the second match, Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) continued their winning form as they defeated Chennai yin FC 3-0. MBSG took a 2-0 lead in the first half itself, courtesy strikes from Aditya Mondal and Prem Hansdak. Aditya scored the first goal in the 21st minute while Prem scored in the 22nd minute. Later, Thangngaisang Haokip stretched the lead to 3-0 in injury time to seal the win.
In Thursday’s evening matches, Norwich City FC hammered Sesa football academy of Goa 5-0 at the SAG Utorda ground. Benjamin Assongo ( 15th and 43rd minute) and Ajay Samuel ( 25th minute) gave Norwich City a 3-0 lead at halftime, while Ajay Samuel ( 72nd minute) and Lorenzo Sanchez ( 85th minute) increased the lead in the second half.
At the SAG Benaulim ground, Punjab proved too strong for Manipur’s Football 4 Change team beating them 3-1.
The Manipur team began the scoring with Houlungou Mate scoring in the 5th minute. Punjab immediately equalized with a 15th minute goal from Thongram Rishikanta Singh to make it 1-1 at half time. In the second half, Punjab captain, Vishal Yadav scored two goals in the 55th and 65th minute to make it 3-1 in their favour.
