Our Lady of the Rosary HSS, Dona Paula, bagged the team championship in U-19 girls category while Mushtifund HS, Cujira, emerged champions in U-17 boys karate category at the state-level karate competition organised by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at Multipurpose indoor hall, Fatorda.
In the girls section, OL Rosary scored 15 points with 3 gold medals won by (-40kg) Richa Pai Lotlikar, (-56kg) Mahek Shake,(+68kg) Nidhi Tiurenkar.
St. Andrew HSS, Vasco, emerged runners-up with 10 points (2 gold medals), while the third place went to G. V. M’s HSS, Ponda, scoring nine points (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze).
In U-17 boys karate competition, Mushtifund HS, Cujira, scored 17 points as they won 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal. The medallists are as follows: -40kg – Tejas Velingkar (Gold), -74kg – Saish Gauns (Gold ), -66kg – Nihal Shetkar (Silver), -82kg – Raunak Bhagat (Silver), -70kg – Bharat Chauhan (Bronze).
People’s HS Mala-Panaji finished runners-up with 13 points (2 gold, 3 bronze). St. Britto HS were third, scoring 8 points with 1 gold and a silver medal to show for their efforts.
