A special consumer awareness drive focussed on service charges, was organised by the Office of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, across various educational institutions in Ponda taluka.
Dr. Gaurav Gopal Naik, Assistant Director of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Ponda Taluka, delivered a talk to students and teachers, highlighting key issues related to service charges and emphasising the importance of consumer awareness in everyday transactions. He encouraged students to be informed and proactive in understanding their rights as consumers.
Purva Prabhu provided insights into consumer rights and the legal remedies available to them. The session was attended by Government HS Headmistress Ujwala Potekar along with the school’s teaching staff.
A similar session was held at New English High School, Kundaim, where Headmistress Sweta Haladankar and faculty members actively participated in the programme.
During these sessions, students showed enthusiastic involvement, asking questions and engaging in discussions related to service charges and consumer protection. These sessions are part of an ongoing effort to empower the next generation with the knowledge and tools necessary to safeguard their consumer rights.
