A total of 161 bus-stops proposed under IPSCDL’s Smart City Mission EV Bus Services, has been notified by the North Goa District Magistrate instructing KTCL in conjunction with PWD to make necessary arrangements to erect the sign boards “Bus Stops” at the places identified, states a press release.
The notification from DM North Goa, notified 161 bus stops at locations specified in the notification. The decision was made in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, and proposed by the Managing Director of Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd. (KTCL) and recommendation by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic (North).
Under the visionary leadership of the IPSCDL and KTCL, this project aims to improve accessibility and enhance the public transportation experience for residents and visitors of the region. By creating designated bus stop locations, IPSCDL seeks to streamline bus operations and contribute to the overall efficiency of the transportation network.
The notification also delineates various conditions to be met during the execution process. This includes obtaining permission from private landowners if any for the erection of bus shelters , ensuring that designated bus stops are exclusively utilized for passenger boarding and alighting, and adhering to safety guidelines for the construction of bus shelters.
The 7 route identified for bus transportation covers area from Panaji, Taligao,Bambolim , St. Cruz , which will subsequently commute in this 161 bus stops depending on the routes designed.
