PANAJI: Hemophilia Society (Panaji Chapter) and Disability Rights Association of Goa (DRAG) celebrated World Hemophilia Day by organising exhibition para-table tennis matches at SAG indoor stadium at Campal here on Sunday.
Taha Haaziq, Deputy-Director of Social Welfare Department, was the chief guest. Prakash Kamat, Member, Goa State Advisory Board on Disability, and Dr Parag Adsule of Occupational Therapy Dept, GMC, were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Adsule guided Goa Para-TT team going for the National Championship as well as the first-time players of Hemophilia Society; on how to take precautions while attempting any sports in order to avoid bleeds, injuries and how to improve participation in sports as an occupation, reducing barriers & importance of physical activity in promoting general health and well-being of para players.
Vice-president of Hemophilia Society, Rama Kavthankar and DRAG president Avelino de Sa also expressed their thoughts on the occasion.
