PANAJI: Futebol Club YFA registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Compassion FC while FC Goa suffered their first defeat as they went down 0-1 to Sirvodem SC in the GFA-Vedanta Women’s League on Wednesday.
At Duler Stadium-Mapusa, Futebol Club YFA scored both their goals in the first half. With the match evenly contested, it took YFA 28 minutes to break the deadlock as Ansiva Vaz scored the first goal. YFA then consolidated their lead just before the break through Chelsea Crasto.
Ansiva Vaz was named the player of the match and the award was presented by GFA vice-president (North) Lavinio Rebello and GFA Executive Committee member Domnic Pereira.
Meanwhile at Rosary ground, Navelim, Sirvodem Sports Club registered a solitary goal win over FC Goa.
Sirvodem SC still remain unbeaten in the league while FC Goa suffered their first defeat of the campaign. Daisy Crasto scored the lone goal of the game for Sirvodem SC. India U-17 team’s goalkeeping coach Percious Dede who attended the game, presented the player of the match to Daisy for her outstanding performance.
